Organized by the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art
1701 Main Street, Peekskill, NY

"Kathryn Dziadik Lapolla" is a four-part, multimedia project about a matriarch and lifelong resident of Peekskill, NY. It offers the public a sense of the city through the story of one of its residents, while leaving something behind for Kathryn and the city in return. Kathryn was selected in an open lottery that was publicized in Spanish and English months in advance throughout downtown Peekskill. She was nominated by her granddaughter-in-law, Vanessa Grice Lapolla, who read the open call flier in the Peekskill Coffee House. The immediate Lapolla family members and the city archives will receive a set of the videos and booklet.

The Peekskill Project 2006 features 111 artists, 16 curators, and 1 city.

Fernandez was invited to participate by co-curator Camilo Alvarez.
